Who We Are
Cathy’s Cafe LTD. (operating under the Blessed Abilities Society) is a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to empowering young people with developmental disabilities through hands-on training and meaningful employment.
Founded by Mr. Gary Tang in 2021, the Blessed Abilities Society was inspired by his personal journey as a father to a daughter with special needs and his desire to create lasting change in how society includes and supports individuals with disabilities.
Many people with developmental disabilities are eager to work, contribute, and build independent lives—but even after finishing school, real job opportunities can be hard to find. Cathy’s Cafe was created to change that. We’re a welcoming, community-centered cafe where great food is served with purpose. Here, people with developmental disabilities can learn new skills, gain confidence, and be part of a team in an inclusive, real-world workplace—while our guests enjoy quality meals and a space that brings people together.
At Cathy’s Cafe, our heart is to provide a cafe employment training program for adults and young adults with developmental disabilities who want to build both cafe skills and essential soft skills for sustainable employment.
